Christmas and New Years in Photos

Can you believe that January is half over? I have been so busy these past few weeks promoting Bikini Ready by Spring on my health blog, taking care of my kids and myself so this month is flying by. I apologize for not updating this blog more often.

A month ago we celebrated Little Bear’s first Birthday. Less than a week later all seven of us piled on an airplane and headed out to Wisconsin for Christmas. We had an exciting adventure.

First we flew out to Denver and had a layover. Our flight out of Denver was delayed about a half an hour but when we finally boarded it started to snow hard. The snow caused the power to go out on the airplane so they had to get that cleaned out while we waited on the tarmac. After that we had to wait in a long line to get deiced. We sat in the airplane on the tarmac for three hours before finally taking off.

The kids behaved for the most part, except for Parrot. He got anxious and kicked the seat in front of him. Then he was noisy and just would not sit still.

The air was not circulating in the plane during this time and I swear the temperature had to have been 90 degrees in that airplane. We all had sweaters and winter clothes on. I was extremely uncomfortable and had a massive migraine headache. The combination of the hot plane, my son misbehaving and my migraine made me sick. I threw up before we took off. That was just the start of our Christmas vacation.

When we finally got into Chicago it was 2am CST. The kids were tired despite sleeping a little bit on the flight. I was tired and the co-zookeeper was also very tired. After we got our luggage he stood in line to get our rental car for two hours. After being told that they were all out of mini vans my husband got the upgrade; a fully loaded Suburban. It was great and it even had a DVD player!

I decided that someday when we get rich (like that will happen) we will own a Suburban just like that one.

We got to my parents’ at 6:30 am after traveling all night long. I was so tired so that first day out there is still a blur. Kitty took a long nap but the other kids stayed awake.

Our trip was a lot of fun and we got to see family and a few friends that I hadn’t seen in years. Below are some photos of the highlights of our vacation. Sorry it took me so long to get this up! I will try my best to update this blog more often in 2012.
